Hi, Electric heating it self is more efficient, however the way the electric is produced is not.


typically for every 1kW of power you put into to an electric heater you get 1kW out, but it to produce the electric it takes 3kW of coal ect, to produce 1kW of electric. A gas boiler can be 98% efficient so overall better.

So unless you have way of producing electric yourself or have an efficient supplier, go for gas.
