Typically, a gas company will not hook up a new gas dryer; this service is usually provided by a licensed plumber or appliance installation technician. However, the gas company may need to ensure that the gas line is properly installed and up to code before the dryer can be connected. It's best to check with your specific gas company for their policies and any requirements that need to be met before installation.
Converting a gas dryer to an electric dryer is not recommended and can be dangerous. It is best to purchase a new electric dryer instead of attempting to convert a gas dryer.
To properly hook up a dryer cord to your new appliance, first make sure the dryer is unplugged. Then, remove the access panel on the back of the dryer to expose the terminal block. Connect the cord wires to the corresponding terminal screws, ensuring they are securely tightened. Finally, replace the access panel and plug in the dryer to test the connection.
The only practical way to do that would be to sell the electric clothes dryer and use the proceeds toward purchase of a gas dryer. Even if it was possible to convert the dryer the cost would be prohibitive versus a new dryer. If you mean converting the building, then you would need to have natural gas plumbing installed, and you would need an outlet that matches the voltage of the new dryer.
Install in previous spot , with out new gas piping I'd charge $150 in Washington DC area.
I guess you technically could but it would be much, much cheaper to just buy a gas fired dryer.
For natural gas, it normally is the responsibility of the gas company to make any repairs of gas lines outside of the dwelling. If you want a new gas line to lead to your new gas stove, it will cost you but that is rather nominal: about $30.
To hook up a 4 prong dryer cord correctly, first make sure the dryer is unplugged. Then, remove the old cord by unscrewing the terminal block cover. Connect the new cord's wires to the terminal block following the color-coded instructions. Tighten the screws securely and replace the terminal block cover. Finally, plug in the dryer and test it to ensure it's working properly.
Chances are there is more than 1 outlet connected to the 110volt circuit you are looking to convert. So therefore the easy answer is No. The 240volt dryer circuit must be a dedicated single circuit for the dryer only.
To properly hook up a 3 prong dryer cord, follow these steps: Turn off the power to the dryer at the circuit breaker. Remove the old cord by unscrewing the terminal block screws. Connect the new cord's ground wire to the dryer's ground screw. Connect the other two wires to the remaining terminals, matching the colors. Tighten the terminal block screws securely. Turn the power back on and test the dryer to ensure it is working properly. Remember to always consult the dryer's manual or a professional if you are unsure about the installation process.
To properly hook up a dryer cord, make sure the power is off, remove the old cord, attach the new cord following the manufacturer's instructions, and secure the connections tightly. Double-check for any loose wires or exposed parts before turning the power back on. This will ensure safe and efficient operation of your dryer.
I bought the same dryer in March of 1999. It was one of the earlier years of the Neptune models.
First open the door and let all the gas BTU's out and then pull the gas pipe off and install electric gassifyer without disturbing the cog's... Once that's done put a handkerchief in and switch on just to make sure the gas is dead and the electric is burning... Easy.
