Just for the record though. 1 for the power supply R, 1 for the compressor, 1 for the reversing valve, 1 for the fan, 1 for each stage of the electric heat strip ( # of stages on stat must match # on heater ) and finally 1 for the common if the stat requires it. That leaves you with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 7.
