I would assume they are just called electricians, the only difference would be that they work for the city and that they work on much larger projects than a regular electrician.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics the estimated mean annual wage for electricians as of May 2008 is, $49,890. This would amount to $23.98 per hour. In May 2008, median hourly wages of wage and salary electricians were $22.32. The middle 50 percent earned between $17.00 and $29.88. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $13.54, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $38.18.
I have heard New York City was the first city in the world to use electricity. The second city was San Jose, Costa Rica. Then Paris.

I would say that the C&G 2330 is mostly your theoretical study with hands skills modules and your NVQ 3 is all the experience you gather on site. Both are important and are dependent on the other ie; you can't do one without the other. However i have heard of people who have done their AM2 without doing NVQ 3 and only doing 2330 as long as they have some work experience thus saving you a lot of time/money.Try the following link:www.electrain.infowww.elecguide.info
