Wood is a good insulater not conductor. metal is a good conductor not insulater, for the same reason.metal has free electrons and wood does not. Lighting will destroy a tree because of the huge amount of electric current but ordinarily it have no affect.

What is an example of conductors and insulators?

conductors are thing that electricity travels through, metal insulators are things electricity does not travel through, dry wood, paper, plastic.

Why are glass and wood good insulators of electricity?

For Current(Electricity) to travel through an object valence electrons are required. Most metals have valence electrons hence are good conductors of electricity. In case of glass and wood free electrons are not present hence electricity does not flow through them.

How well electricity flows through a material?

Depends on the material. The electricity can flow through metal better then it can through wood because wood is a conductor of electricity (example).

Can electricity travel through water?

Yes, electricity can travel through water because water is a conductor of electricity due to the presence of ions.

Why does electricity not flow in wood?

Electricity does not flow well through wood because wood is a poor conductor of electricity. The electrons in wood are tightly bound to the atoms, making it difficult for them to move freely and carry an electrical current. As a result, wood does not allow electricity to flow through it easily.

Can electricity travel through wax?

No, electricity cannot travel through wax as it is an insulator. Insulators such as wax do not conduct electricity and therefore do not allow electric current to pass through them.

Can electricity travel through mineral water?

Yes, electricity can travel through mineral water because of the presence of ions.

Is wood a conductors or insulators in science?

Insulator. Wood does not allow electricity to pass through it nor does it conduct electricity.

How does wood react to electricity in a circuit?

Wood is an insulator and does not conduct electricity. It will not allow electricity to flow through it like a conductor would, so it will not be affected by electricity in a circuit.

Does sound travel faster through air or wood?

wood

Would electricity be able to pass through wood metal or plastic?

Electricity can pass through metal, since it is a good conductor of electricity. Wood and plastic are not conductive and will typically not allow electricity to pass through them, unless they are damp or have conductive materials present.

What electricity travels through?

electricity can travel through anything with a positive and negative electrical charge
