The Physical Layer of the OSI model.
A NIC, or network interface card, allows your computer to connect to a network where all the systems are physically cabled together.A modem, or modulater/demodulator, serves much of the same functions as a NIC except that it changes digital comptuer signals to analog signals for transfer over phone lines.
there is the time it takes the source NICto place voltage pulses on the wire and the time it takes the receiving NIC to interpret these pulses. This is sometimes called NIC delay
In a computer network, the network interface card (NIC) is responsible for transmitting and receiving data. The transmission characteristics, such as speed, duplex mode (full or half), and supported protocols, are maintained by the NIC's drivers and firmware. Adapters (physical or virtual) help connect the NIC to the network medium, such as Ethernet cables or wireless signals.
This protocol would be the NIC (Network Interface Card). The NIC takes frames from layer 2 and converts them into electrical siginal's
Doesn't matter if your connected to a LAN or not. The MAC address is hard coded into the NIC and does not change unless software on the computer requires that it changes.
Assuming there was supposed to be a "What" at the start of that question.... The answer is a Network Interface Card (NIC).
dear friend! when you want to connect your PC with a LAN it has to dynamic: 1-you make your PC the administrator for the LAN 2-you make your PC the client for the LAN FOR NO#1 you need tow kind of NIC(network interface card)1-is for reciving signals of WAN to pass for the second NIC and the second NIC pass it for the LAN and also receive it back. FOR NO#2 you only need one NIC for reciving data wihle connecting to the LAN (means that you can solve your problem by getting one NIC) syr01.gallery@yahoo.co.UK
Egypt is a NIC!!!
The NIC is the interface device between the computer's data bus and the network. It contains the transmitter and receiver necessary to send and receive signals. It also has memory to help with network performance and some types of NICs also contain microprocessors to help off-load the work from the main computer CPU. A NIC also contains the physical connections required to send and receive electrical or wireless signals on a LAN.
