Assuming (probably incorrectly) that you are talking about car engines:
It probably depends on the engine, and I question why you would ever want to rotate an engine in the opposite direction from how it is designed to run. But if I wanted to move an engine in the wrong direction, I would put a socket wrench on the front of the crankshaft, generally in the middle of the engine's lower pulley. I would first disconnect the negative battery cable, as you never want to risk the engine starting to fire and move on its own when you are working on it.
These generic hints would work on most traditional front engine rear wheel drive american car engines of the 50's thru 70's and beyond. (also on some Volvos, Suzuki Samurais, MBZ, and BMWs I have worked on.)
IC pins are numbered anti-clockwise around the IC starting near the notch or dot.
there are different types of stepper motors according to there working voltage such as 5-24v. there are different types and number of wires. this motor moves clock and anti clock wise .
Essentially an Scr is a solid state switch that will only allow current to flow in one direction. A triac is essentially two scr's in Anti- parallel that allows current to pass in both directions.

There are many different types of tags. Some of the more commonly used are the radio frequency tags, electromagnetic and acoustic magnetic system. You can information on how each works here. http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/anti-shoplifting-device3.htm
Move it 3 times* * * * *or once in the anti-clockwise direction.
It Occurs when you have particles that rotate in an ANTI-Clockwise direction and spin in an axis.

A typhoon, that is, a tropical cyclone that forms in the northwestern Pacific Ocean, rotates in an anti-clockwise direction.
Anti clockwise is used in the winter to bring heat down to the room. during the summer you would use the clockwise motion
Anti clockwise means to the left. clockwise goes to the right. if you get stuck look at a clock. the hand pointing left is anti clockwise. Go to the right it's clockwise.
anti-clockwise
anti clockwise or clockwise - it depends - in North America its clockwise but in the UK it is anti clockwise
From above the North Pole, the Earth rotates anti-clockwise, or right to left.
Jupiter rotates on its axis, completing one full rotation approximately every 9.9 hours. This rapid rotation causes the planet to have an oblate shape, bulging at the equator and flattening at the poles.
They turn back towards the light
An angle is a measure of turn. the amount of turn is the magnitude, measured in degrees, and direction of turn can be clockwise or anti-clockwise. A positive angle turns in an anti-clockwise direction while a negative angle turns in a clockwise direction.
