If you have the STX 821 you have a 800 mhz hand held radio. To Program you will need a laptop that is running DOS 6.0 or window 98 where you can go into DOS. Next you will need the programing cable for the radio and the RIB box. Next you will need the programing software from Motorola. If you don't have the software you can get from the Russian web site: www.cqham.ru/sch_eng.html
You can buy the RIB Box from E-bay and and the programing cable if you don't have it. the software is easy to use. There is a help menu on the software. If you are going to program a trunk system you are going to need a system key. That I don't know where you can get that. I hope this help.
