It should do so easily; 1.5 HP is only about 1100 watts, which is significantly less than 3.5 kVA.

A 3-ton 10 SEER air conditioner typically uses around 3600 watts per hour when running at full capacity. Keep in mind that the actual energy consumption can vary based on factors such as operating conditions, temperature settings, and efficiency of the unit.

It depends on the efficiency of the air conditioner. I have two 3-ton units for my home. One recently died and I replaced it with a more efficient unit. The new unit is 16 SEER, while the old was 12 SEER. In general, the higher the SEER rating, the more efficient, but you get diminishing returns as you go higher. For example going from 12 to 13 saves a lot more energy than going from 15 to 16. I have a whole house watt meter connected and measured both units after the upgrade to see how much more efficient my new one was. Below are the results. As you can see there is no easy answer to how much your unit consumes. 16 SEER - 2300 watts 12 SEER - 3400 watts

A 5000 BTU air conditioner works on 1465 watts. If the BTU, 5000, is multiplied by .293071, the exact amounts are given. However, this does not display the amount of watts utilized by the air conditioner. The voltage and amperes would need to be known in order to figure the watts during usage.
The wattage required to run a central air conditioner typically ranges from 2,000 to 5,000 watts, depending on the unit's size and efficiency. A standard residential unit usually requires about 3,500 watts for cooling. Additionally, larger units or those with higher SEER ratings may consume more power. It's essential to check the specific model's energy specifications for accurate wattage requirements.
