How do you know if the AC breaker matches the AC unit starting demand load?

Read the literature for the ac condensing unit, or the tag on the outside of the unit. Minimum circuit ampacity= minimum breaker, wire and fuse size. Maximum circuit ampacity= the maximum size. Your circuit breaker, wire size and disconnect fuses should all be at or between those 2 numbers.

Code thirty three on a Plymouth reliant?

Code 33 = AC cut out relay circuit. This is normal if it doesn't have an AC unit.

What does electricity refer to?

It is the complex ratio of the voltage to the AC (alternating current) circuit. It extends the concept of resistance to AC circuits due to magnitude and phase.

What circuit breaker amp needed to run a 10 seer central ac unit?

60amp

What does electrical impedance refer to?

What does the term cycle refer to in AC circuits?

The current or voltage have a frequency in an AC system. It is 50 or 60 hertz per second. It is also known as 50 or 60 cycles per second. Each cycle is set of positive and negative amplitude. Refer Sinusoidal wave for further details.

How do you convert hertz into volts?

'Hertz' is the modern name for 'cycles per second' and represents how many times an alternating current (AC) changes from + to - per second and has nothing to do with voltage that can be either AC or DC. Tus if you have an alternator and can rotate the shaft 60 times per second with a voltage of 120 volts you will produce the same AC voltage that you find in your wall outlet (Alternators produce AC while generators produce DC electricity.

How much freon should you put in your central ac unit?

Refer to your manual or call the manufacture for the proper information.

What is the difference between Kilovolt Ampere and Kilowatt?

A kilowatt is an unit of true power in an AC circuit -as measured by a wattmeter. A kilovolt ampere is an unit of apparent power in an AC circuit, which is the product of the voltage across a load by the current through it. The relationship between the two is: kilowatt = (kilovolt ampere) x (power factor of load)

Why would plugging in an Air Conditioning unit in a wall receptacle blow a fuse?

The fuse (or circuit breaker) rating has been exceeded. I'm assuming you do NOT have the AC unit connected to a dedicated circuit. Lets say you have a 15 amp circuit breaker and the AC unit draws 12 amps and other items on the same circuit draw an additional 5 amps. The total amp draw of 17 amps exceeds the circuit design capacity; so the breaker trips to prevent an electrical fire. If you have old style fuses, NEVER EVER replace a fuse with a higher rated one! I'm sure you'd have problems with your homeowners insurance paying out when your house burns down. Have an electrician run a new dedicated circuit for the AC unit and you should be good to go.

Are 3 watts equal to 2 amps?

Watt is the unit of power and amp is the unit of current, power in DC circuit is product of volthe and current but in AC circuit it is the product of voltage and currentand power factor ie P=VIcos phi
