According to BS 7671:2008 'Requirements for Electrical Installations', 'high voltage' is defined as (for a.c.) exceeding 1000 V (a.c.) line-to-line, or 600 V (a.c.) line-to-neutral.

It means extremely large amounts of electicity is passed through the device. This probably means you should NOT touch it or in fact go anywhere NEAR it. Just pretend it is not there because it could KILL you.

What does inductive load effect on High Voltage transmission line?

the inductive load which is generally use in high voltage transmission line known as transformer. the transformer transform the high voltage to low voltage.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of such high voltage?

voltage is termed as electrical pressure. when high voltage is applied more is the movement of electrons. hence losses will be less. this is one of the major reason for which high voltage transmission is chosen.secondly due to high voltage the current will be less so as the conductor size

How you understand which side of a transformer is high voltage side and low voltage side?

at high voltage side, current is low. hence the size of conductors is reduced or small. At low voltage side, current is high. Hence the size of conductors is large.

The high-voltage section of a unit substation contains devices called to which the incoming high-voltage cables are terminated?

potheads

What are the difference between high voltage and low voltage?

Hi, The main difference is Fuel consumption. High current genertors always consumes much fuel because the load on the engine will be high. The high voltage low current generators doesn't need much fuel to run. You can understand this by comparing 1 kva and 5 kva single phase generators. For both generators voltage will be same (230v) But output current differs. So the fuel consumption also differs. But you get a high current source. Low voltage high current generators can be used for welding kind of stuffs which needs high current to do the job. If you have step down transformer then you can save the fuel.
