Depending on the requirements and the standard of installation around 5 to 12% is a good estimate. A 2 bedroom property may cost $30,000 to build but a 18th century chandelier at $80,000 in the kitchen may wreck this rule of thumb!

How much does it cost to operate a 1000 watt mercury vapor light?

The same as it costs to operate any 1000 watt device or combination thereof. Your electrical bill is rated in kwh or kilowatt hours. (A kilowatt happens to be 1000 watts per hour). So if your local rate is say 8.5 cents per kwh ( a typical amount ) then it will cost 8.5 cents per hour ( plus tax & service fees, etc.!) Check your electric bill and find out your exact per kilowatt/hour rate. Since this type fixture is a commercial fixture, your rate may be a higher commercial rate than most residences.

Is repairing an electrical system expensive?

Electrical systems are comprised of many components, some of which cost much more to repair than others. If the circuit breaker or electrical panel in your home is old and outdated, it may be a good time to replace this home system. For this particular project, the materials and components needed can be costly. There are several different types of electricians you could hire, which means that costs can differ based on that factor as well. For this, you can contact Mr. Electric of Katy. We have an experienced team to handle all kinds of electrical problems. For more info, call us at 346 666 5002

Can you replace 240 volt service with 480 volt service?

240 volt service is residential, split single phase. 480 volt service is commercial/industrial, three phase. In theory, with the approval of your municipality and electric utility, you could replace split single phase with commercial three phase service. However, the equipment for the replacement (transformers, feeder wire) would likely not be provided by the electric utility and would have to be bought by you. This equipment cost usually makes any benefit of such equipment not cost effective. Not to mention the cost doesn't end there. Your building electrical system would have to be rebuilt as a three phase system. That is like apples and oranges. You wouldn't even be able to plug in a typical 120v load without connecting transformers to step down the voltage.
