What is doping process?

It is the addition of impurities to a semi-conductor in order improve their electrical conductivity.

What is meant by capacitor?

A capacitor is an electrical or elctronic semi conductive material which have the ability to store electrical charge and discharge when needed, and also used for timing a circuit and finally used for filtering in a circuit. A capacitor is made up of two plates seperated by die-electric strength or material. Thanks

What is the full form of XLPE cable?

XLPE = Cross-Linked Polyethelene There are actually two semi-conductive layers on high voltage cable. One is between the actual conductors and the XLPE. The other semi-con is on outside of the XLPE insulation underneath the concentric neutral. The semi-con is used to equalize the electrical stresses over a large area. For example, most conductors are made up of multiple strands of copper or aluminum. The outer edge of the conductor bundle is not smooth. It has several ridges on the outer edge where the individual strands meet one another. These high spots will stress the insulation leading to a premature failure. The internal semi-con makes a smooth voltage level for the XLPE where it meets the conductor strands.

Speed control of three phase induction motor by supply voltage control using AC voltage regulators?

No. Use standard utility AC, 3 PH voltage to feed a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). The VFD is then wired to the motor. The output of the VFD varies average voltage and frequency in a semi-constant proportion to keep Volts/Hertz ratio the same to the motor. The operator can then adjust or select the desired speed from the VFD and the VFD will run the motor continuosly at that desired speed. If you were to control only voltage to the motor without adjusting frequency in proportion, the motor would burn up.

How can you increase the conductivity of a semi conductor?

The conductivity of a semi-conductor can be increased by raising the temperature of the semi-conductor .

Is putting a truck battery in a car damaging?

Truck Battery versus Car BatteryThere is no difference in a truck battery or a car battery unless you are talking about a semi. As long as the battery fits, it the same voltage, and has sufficient CCA (cold cranking amps) it will work in a truck or car.

What is the prefix for truck?

There is no prefix in truck.

When you push on the gas pedal in a semi your battery light come on just wonder if anybody know what this means?

That light indicates a fault in your charging system, and it works by monitoring the voltage in the system. Any semi made today has a 12-volt electrical system. They used to have 24-volt systems (the extra 12 volts made it easier to crank a big engine) but now that powerful 12-volt starters have been invented, trucks are 12v. Which means the system thinks the voltage in it should be between 11 and 13 volts. If it sees a voltage outside that range in either direction, the light comes on. Since the light comes on when you step on the fuel pedal, the voltage is too high. Too high voltage means your voltage regulator is shot...since it's in the alternator, you need to pull it, take it to an auto electric shop and get it rebuilt. More importantly, you need to get it done NOW - pumping 18v into a 12v electrical system fries things, and the cheapest part in the system is the alternator. You don't want to know what an engine computer on one of these rigs costs.

Why won't my 1998 semi truck turn over from key to engine all of a sudden?

Number of possibilities. Bad starter is one. Insufficient voltage/amperage is another. If your truck is equipped with a Qualcomm unit, there's often a relay installed into the ignition system which will interrupt the circuit if the Qualcomm is disconnected... that relay may have failed.
