with every other one. The only series-wired electrical devices in

your house are the light-switches.

Parallel circuits are used in wiring almost everything in buildings. You use them to turn on the lights in a room, Use a blow dryer or to plug anything into an outlet. Some lights and outlets use series circuit, where if one load is disconnected, the entire system fails, much like Christmas tree lights with a faulty bulb.

A parallel circuit is a circuit where there is more than one path of which the flow of current can travel. It is also called a current divider as it divides the current since it splits the path.
