There are 18 different listings of penguins on the IUCN Red List. The status given to these range from "least concern", to "endangered" with population trend decreasing. So, considering that there are from, 17 to 20, (this number is being debated) species of penguins. I think it's fair to say that, generally speaking, they are endangered. But, to be completely accurate, it would be helpful if you knew the name of the species of penguin.
