Bobo was Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo's first gorilla. He was born in July 1951 and died February, 1968, at the zoo.
Bobo was raised from infancy by the Lowman family of Anacortes, Washington, at their home, until he became to strong for the family to keep. He went to the zoo in December 1953.
Bobo now has a Facebook page (see related links) which is administered by a representative of the Lowman family.
