It depends on many things but i don't believe someone can make more than a couple of years This is very inaccurate as a giant cell tumor is benign and you'll live as long as you are supposed to. I am not sure who wrote the beginning of this answer but they have no clue what they are talking about.

A giant cell tumor is a benign but locally aggressive tumor that usually occurs in the bones, most commonly in the long bones of the arms and legs. It is characterized by the presence of many multinucleated giant cells within the tumor tissue. Surgical treatment is often required to remove the tumor and prevent recurrence.

What is a spindle cell tumor in the stomach?
In short, yes. BUT, depending on where the cancer, it will be MALIGNANT or not, meaning that it can recur, metastasize, or invade. If you provide the site of the giant cell tumor and age of patient, people might be able to help here. Alternatively and better yet, contact your pathologist and ask if he can help you. Giant Cell Tumors are not even real tumors and they are not cancerous!

I had a giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath removed about a month ago. It was done under light sedation, and I wore a bandage with stitches for almost 2 weeks. After the stitches were removed, I had an ugly scar and was sent to therapy a week later. There was some pretty significant swelling that was reduced with ice & heath therapy. Moving my finger, at 5 weeks post op is still a challenge...swelling and the formation of scar tissue are the biggest contributors. Do the exercises your therapist shows you, massage the scar often, and start using the finger as quickly as possible to prevent siffening of the joints. Good luck!
