Yes. Spyware is constantly changing, being reinvented to pass through firewalls. So you need to make sure you keep your firewall updated and also use an antivirus program. But it is possible for some spyware to get through such programs occasionally, so you need to also run a spyware scan occasionally. Spyware is a highly aggressive problem the advertisers want to sell product and employ spyware / adware programmers by the thousands ; a friend of ours is over the CDC web access and she says it is the worst thing they have ever seen, mainly because it changes so rapidly , there are a zillion spyware products But I found PCtools spyware doctor really does the trick and If your system is on 24/7 setup a scheduled scan at 3:00 am or some other time you a fairly certain you are not on the system . Note many school systems have there operating systems ruined every 6-8 months , causing them to wipe and fully reload there systems

yes u need firewall, spyware and other protections for your PC
No it does not, If it is just an anti-spyware it will protect your computer against software that goes through your history and finds your IP address. If it is all around virus protection it will protect against spyware, malware, viruses, and more. None of these should block your Internet use. If you have software that does that you should check to see if you have a firewall first. Then if there is a firewall deactivate it and try again. If the problem persists then delete the anti- spyware completely from your computer and try again. If it still is giving you trouble call tech support for better help.
