The Hispaniolan Trogon is the national animal of Haiti. It is a type of bird found in the Trogonidae family. It is found on the entire island of Hispaniola that includes both Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

EDIT: The previous poster must have been daft when they put some of the animals on this list.

No where on Haiti will you ever find Koalas, which are native to Australia, or Kangaroos, which also live in Australia and parts of New Guinea. Nor will you find Giraffes, Elephants, Tigers, Bears, or Camels, except in the highly unlikely event that someone imported one. I can't even begin to figure out what Lingies and Mexican Hibillas are, but I'm fairly certain they don't live in Haiti, if at all.

The only accurate answers previously posted include Flamingos, Caiman, Snakes, Mice, and Insects. Horses were likely imported and still live there, as do several other domesticated animals, including Dogs, Cats, Chickens, and Goats.

Haiti was once almost entirely covered with pine, hardwood, and mixed pine-hardwood forests, but fire was uncontrolled. Many of the animals died along with it. Here are some common ones which live there:
