A primary source of nutrients for the food web is sunlight, which enables photosynthetic organisms like plants and phytoplankton to convert light energy into chemical energy. These producers form the base of the food web, providing essential nutrients to herbivores (primary consumers) and, subsequently, to higher trophic levels such as carnivores and omnivores. Additionally, decomposers break down organic matter, recycling nutrients back into the ecosystem, thereby supporting the entire food web.
Nutrients and energy.
plants
It means the good source of food
A food web, which is a network of interconnected food chains showing the flow of energy and nutrients through an ecosystem.
Its energy is derived from the nutrients in the food it consumes.
In a food web or food chain, a plantain functions as a primary producer, converting sunlight into energy through photosynthesis. It serves as a food source for herbivores, such as insects and other animals, which in turn may be consumed by carnivores. Plantains contribute to the ecosystem by providing nutrients and supporting various trophic levels, ultimately influencing the biodiversity and stability of their environment.
because then if something in the complex food web dies off, you have another food source but in a web if one thing dies off the web is basically dead. so yeah
Mushrooms occupy the position of decomposers in the food web. They break down organic matter and recycle nutrients back into the ecosystem.
The word "food" means source of nutrients, solid nourishment, and mental stimulus.
The transfer of food energy from the source in plants through a series of organisms with repeated eating and being eaten is the Food Chain. The interlocking pattern of Food Chains makes up the Food Web. It's called a food WEB because its a web of interconnecting food chains. That why the food chain is important. THANK YOU FOR ASKING.
, I will answer this question on the basis that you know what a food web is. Well, for those who do not, it is a food chain but encompassing a system rather than focusing on an organism. The ultimate source of energy would be PLANTS! Plants that can generate their own food through nutrients from the soil and with aid from water and sunlight all of which being non living things and thus we conclude as herbivores eat plants and carnivores eat herbivores and other carnivores and plants who generate their own food eat none of the above they are the ultimate source of energy that you would consider in a food web. I am not sure you would consider sunlight as part of the food-web and thus conclude that the sun is the ultimate source of energy, but from what I learnt when I was younger was that PLANTS are the ultimate source of energy. Hope I Helped
Cockroaches contribute to the ecosystem by breaking down organic matter, recycling nutrients, and serving as a food source for other animals. They play a role in maintaining ecological balance by helping to decompose dead plants and animals, which helps to cycle nutrients back into the soil. Additionally, they are an important food source for many predators, helping to support the overall food web.
