Eco-diversity is the term referring to a specific property of land that contains many of the numerous ecosystems, such as wetlands, forests, mountains, estuaries, coastal waterways, swamps, etc. all within close proximity of each other. The Saint marks wildlife refuge is a prime example of eco diversity. It contains swamps, forests, estuaries, coastal waterways all within a 68,000 acre body of land. where-as places likeWisconsin, are not considered diverse ecosystems due to the lack of different categorized ecosystems, as it contains mainly one ecosystem, plains and vast open fields spotted with forests, but not a significant amount of any other ecosystem.
