Indian elephants have smaller ears, and African elephants have larger ears. I also think that the African elephants tusks might be a bit larger than the Indian ones. This answer is not completely accurate, but the Indian elephants do have smaller ears than African.

Yes, the African elephant is much more powerful than the Asian elephant. The African elephant's average weight is 5.5-7 tons and they are 10-13 feet tall. The Asian elephants are smaller and they are much more easier to tame that is why African elephants are rarely seen around people as oppose to Asian elephants who are normally used for labor.
