carpenter ants do not eat wood like termites, but they do bore through wood to create galleries for their nests. [this replaces a very false answer--good sources for more answers and identifying different species of black ants--this can be tricky--are univsersity extension services you can find on the internet, they have URLs ending in .edu]
Big black ants that are found in homes are carpenter ants. They nest above ground in cavities and can do damage if nesting inside homes.
Not at all.
Carpenter ants are larger in size than other species of ants. The queen carpenter ant can be identified because of her grayish hue and black stripes down her back.
"Big black ants" are likely to be common garden ants. Carpenter ants are a completely different species, larger and found in different surroundings. Garden ants of a number of subspecies are the common pests associated with spoiling picnics and invading sandboxes. Some are black, but others are varying shades of brown and red, fading to tan. They thrive on carbohydrates, especially sugars, and tend to congregate within range of such food sources. The ants you see in your kitchen or on your picnic table are likely to be common garden ants. Carpenter ants are named for their appetite for wood. They nest in tree trunks and in the framing lumber of buildings. Like termites, they devour wooden members from the inside out, creating 'galleries' inside a log or board. Unlike termites, however, they are not particularly sensitive to light and are able to migrate freely without tunnels or other protective structures.
i don't really know bout that. But I've seen 2 big (black) ants move together side by side followed by 2 long lines of small ants behind them. The big ant on the left side has a big head while the other one has a big abdomen with gold stripes on it. I assumed the big head as the King while the big abdomen as the Queen of ants, and the small black ants as the "soldiers".
Big
I think it's have big cells.Althought ants is very small.
Ants have big butts to secreate seiboob milk to feed the young ants.
If your an ant do you feel heavy if your black little ant head is so big? yes.
ants do not have penises.
No...................... termites are not Ants because termites do not have big/small munchers at ether side of the mouth and ants are not termites because ants do not chew on wood. But they are both pests and a "white ant" is also known as a termite. as you this is all true (not like some that put in jibajaba) Termites are related closer to cockroaches then they are ants, Yes people do call them white Ants but in fact are not Ants or related to ants at all.
Could be a Carpenter Bee. They look like a bumble bee without the yellow band. Big and round, but harmless. They have no stinger.
The only ants that big are Queen ants, all other ants within a colony being much smaller.
as big as ant peenis
