Impulse Noise is the a noncontinuous noise and one of the the most difficult errors to detect because it occurs randomly. Like a lighting strike, the severity of the static across the radio could be so severe that you couldn't hear the music or like a vinyl record with a scratch, the pops and clicks associated with the hitting the scratch making the sound at that exact moment unrecoverable.
