Electrical engineering would include such things as Transformers and switchgear, conductors, motors and generators; and almost always concerned with the energy component of electrical systems. House and automobile wiring and systems including lighting would also be included.

Electronic engineering is mainly concerned with the information concept of a circuit. Such items such as radios and transmitters, radar and computers, and in general the control of electrical impulses to effect some change. Low energy relays would also be considered part of electronics, for example the suite of relays controlling an elevator system. In general the information component is the focus, rather than the power component.
