It meets the minimum levels for PCSx2 emulator
There are other requirements for the emulator and found under related link
Newer Intel processors incorporate something known as "SpeedStep." When the processor is not being used extensively, it downclocks itself to conserve power. You can disable this feature if it bothers you in your BIOS.
There is no Pentium 5 processor. The mainstream (non-budget) Pentium line ends with the Pentium D, which is essentially a dual-core Pentium 4. The Core Solo, Core Duo, Core 2 Duo, and Core 2 Quad all have a very different architecture from the Pentium 4.
Intel's first multicore processor was the Xeon, followed the same year (2002) by the Pentium IV. The two cores were implemented in a hyperthreading configuration, allowing two simultaneous threads when both threads were in the same process address space. Independent cores (in different address spaces) were supported starting with the Core-2 Duo. This configuration extended the hyperthreading model to include duplicating enough of the bus interface unit to allow two unrelated threads to run simultaneously.
The recommended system requirements for PCSX2 are: Windows Xp/Windows 7 or Linux 32bit/64bit CPU: Core 2 Duo 3.2 GHz or Core-i series GPU: GeForce 8600 GT or better 2GB RAM (3GB or more if using Windows Vista or Windows 7) see related link for PCSX2 From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
While you can technically run PCSX2 on it, it is not powerful enough to provide even remotely good performance for most games. The PCSX2 team recommends at least a Core 2 Duo and a GeForce 8800.
The Intel corporation says yes, it supports core 2 Duo processor.

´Dual core' just means that there are 2 separate cores in the CPU. Intel has made dual core pentuim 4, core duo and core 2 duo CPUs. ´Core 2 Duo´ is just one type of dual core CPU that Intel has made.
There is no difference between dual core and core 2 duo. Intel just name its recent family of dual core processors as "core 2 duo". Both (core 2 duo and dual core) works in same fashion.
the Intel core 2 quad
The Intel Core Duo is installed into a computer as part of the computers processor and is a chip that sits in the motherboard. The Intel Core Duo is a fast processor allowing advanced gaming capabilities
The intel atom is a crappy slow netbook processer. The intel core 2 duo is way better
