If the cost can be tracked towards a cost object, then it is called overhead absorption. If the cost can not be tracked with respect to a specific cost center or cost object, then the entire cost is distributed to all the cost centers, based on the usage ratio. What is system overhead?

All system overhead is the more things you have running at a time or stored at a time is considered overhead. If you run 2 severs with one domain controller and 100 client PCs then you have alot of overhead. If you run 5 domain controllers all in 1 forest with 100 clent PCs then you have less over head.
