First of all you have to know the gravities of the liquids you want to measure.
For example crude oil's gravity is 0.87 and water's gravity is 1.
A level transmitter uses 2 inlets, including the area of the level you want to observe.
You meter the distance (the height) between the two inlets.
CALIBRATION:
You fill the container with the heavier liquid, till the gravity's percent (%). Adjust for ZERO.
Fill till 100% to have the SPAN.
The gravity selector must be at the right position.
To calibrate a K-Tek level transmitter, first ensure that the transmitter is properly installed and powered on. Then, access the calibration mode via the device's interface, usually by pressing specific buttons or using software. Next, input the zero and span values corresponding to the minimum and maximum levels you want to measure. Finally, save the settings and verify the calibration by checking the output against known reference levels.

To zero check a level transmitter, first ensure that the transmitter is properly installed and connected. Then, isolate the transmitter from the process by venting it to atmospheric pressure or filling the tank to a known zero level. Verify the output signal using a calibration device or readout; it should match the expected zero point (usually 4 mA for a 4-20 mA transmitter). Finally, adjust the zero setting if necessary, following the manufacturer's instructions.
It just transmits the level of the fluid into electric signal to level indicator and this level indicator will show current level of fluid. The whole setup is used for level measurement. A Level Transmitter is simply an instrument that provides continuous level measurement. Level transmitters can be used to determine the level of a given liquid or bulk-solid at any given time. This is different to a level switch which only alarms when the level of material (liquid or bulk-solid) reaches a predetermined level.
To check for accuracy, set up water level, then shoot the ends.

You have to specify which type of calibration you want to perform on the transmitter dry, wet or online calibration ?
how we calibrate the level switch
To calibrate a vacuum pressure transmitter, first ensure it is connected to a known pressure source. Apply the vacuum pressure and compare the transmitter's output reading to the actual pressure. Make adjustments if necessary using the zero and span adjustments until the output matches the actual pressure value.
well you just need to slide it inside it yiou also need a life
To calibrate flow transmitters, first, ensure that the transmitter is installed correctly and that all connections are secure. Then, use a known reference flow measurement, such as a gravimetric or volumetric method, to compare against the transmitter's output. Adjust the transmitter settings, such as zero and span, to align the output with the reference measurement. Finally, verify the calibration by repeating the process at various flow rates to ensure accuracy across the range.
use the communicator and apply 4 MA which is your zero them apply 20 MA which is your span. .
Calibrate it at sea level and then again at an elevated position where the height it known. This would allow one enough reference point to calibrate it accurately.

If you are mounting the transmitter below the datum line of the tank, the transmitter signal will go above 4 mA when the High side impulse line fills up and this will give a zero error compared to the tank actual zero level.
