Not certain of model 323F; my standard 323 has the 1.6 L OHC engine and you can change the starter motor as follows:
The starter motor is located on the back side of the engine (closest to the firewall) underneath the fuel injection/intake manifold.
To replace it, first disconnect the battery, then remove the main power cable (heavy wire) and the start wire (light wire). Next remove the two bolts for the intake manifold support bracket and remove bracket. Remove one bolt on starter rear support bracket and 3 bellhousing flange bolts (two accessible from starter side, on accessible from bellhousing side). the starter is now free and can be taken out form the passenger's side (LHD).
Good luck

It says in the Mazda 323F owners manual to replace it every 100K km (60K miles) or 60 months whichever comes first
To change the gear knob on a Mazda 323F, first, ensure the car is in neutral. Then, gently pull the old gear knob upwards to remove it; it may require some twisting. If there’s a retaining clip, you may need to press it or use pliers to release the knob. Finally, align the new gear knob with the shifter and push it down firmly until it’s securely in place.
according to a website, The Mazda 323F 1998 1.5 GLX weighs a stated 1085 kg at the kerb. Sincerely. Saeid Hatam
My 94 Mazda v6 323f feels like its going to die if i press the accelerator fast, but if i build up the revs slowly, it is smooth. The idle is smooth too. Is this an O2 sensor problem or another? How do I test if the sensor is faulty or not?
