This isn't done. Exe is Windows executible file format. If you're tring to use a java program, you'll need to have the latest version of java installed on your computer. Then you should be able to start the java application same as you would an exe file (double click it)

However, there are wrapper applications out there that will basically combine the aforementioned process in an exe. Sometimes this wrapper is included with various Java IDE's, or can be downloaded separately.

It is also possible to compile the source code of a program written in Java directly to a native binary (that is, a *.exe file on Windows). Several Java to Native compilers exist.

Also, there are several programs available that can change .class files to .exe files.

As far as I've been able to find out, there is no simple way to do it. The easiest way is to not actually convert the class file into an executable, but to wrap an executable launcher around the class file. That is, create an executable file (perhaps an OS-based, executable scripting file) which simply invokes the Java class through the command line.

If you want to actually have a program that does it, you should look into some of the automated installers out there.

Assuming you mean a standard compiled binary executable file, the answer is: you don't.

At best, you can use a decompiler to scan the exe file and attempt to partially reconstruct a source-code representation of that file. However, in order for a decompiler to work, you MUST decompile to the language that the exe was originally written in (i.e. trying to decompiler an executable that was originally written in C into Java source code would be a miserable failure). Even then, the best decompilers aren't going to be able to produce a complete program, and the quality of the resulting source code is likely to be very hit-or-miss.

However, if you want to decompile a Java .class file back into the Java source code, many Java decompilers are quite good, and will produce excellent source code. This is because the problem is significantly easier than attempting to deconstruct a generic binary executable.
