A drain cock, also known as a drain valve or drain tap, is a plumbing device installed on piping systems, typically at the lowest point, to allow for the drainage of fluids. It enables the removal of water or other liquids from the system for maintenance, repairs, or winterization. By opening the drain cock, users can effectively empty the pipe or tank, preventing water accumulation and potential freeze damage.
