the ugly"s book is a good reference.from the contactor /overload relay you need 3 wires and L1 is always your STOP.need a jumper wire which is always the lowest number on your contactor. on a siemens that would be #2. different manufactors have different numbers, your start would be #3 on a siemens contactor or the terminal on the left side of L1. jumper is needed to bring the power to your stop/start. hope this helps!! always consult the experts if not sure. start is no,stop is nc jumper is auxilary contact

How can you stop the flow of the current around a circurt?

Open the circuit with a switch or contacts.

How does circuit stop flowing when light bulb switch is off?

The simplist answers is that electricity needs to complete a circuit fully. It stops flowing because there is no complete circuit. The switch is a device for opening and closing the circuit. When the switch is in the off position the circuit is said to be open and electricity cannot flow.

What is the function of a switch in a electric circuit?

A switch is a device which can be used to make or break a circuit. If that circuit carries a voltage which would be dangerous to people or animals then the handle of the switch must be made of a good insulator and the rest of the switch must be well shielded to stop anyone - or anything else - from touching any live wires. If you get a chance to visit a science museum ask them to show you a "knife switch". Another place to see one is the Physics Lab at your local college or high school. Once you have seen a knife switch you will understand exactly how a basic switch works. It's quite simple really

Why an electrical device will not work if the neutral is not connected in a single phase system?

To make any electrical circuit work it has to be complete. Source of power to the load, the load itself and a return path from the load back to the source. The source in this case being the distribution panel. Any breaks in this complete path will cause the current to stop flowing and the device to not work. A light fixture and light switch work on this principle, open the circuit and the light goes out.

What is the use of centrifugal switch in single phase induction motors do all single phase motors gave them?

To stop a three-phase motor dead ('plugging'), rather than allowing it to slow to a stop, the motor controller interchanges two of the three lines -which applies a reverse torque to the machine. But before the motor then gets a chance to reverse direction, the centrifugal switch trips the starter and removes the supply. <<>> The centrifugal switch that you refer to and can see in an open frame motor, is used to open the start winding of small HP single phase motors. Once the motor gets up to a certain RPM, the switch opens and the motor continues to operate on its run winding. When the motor stops, the switch goes back to its normally closed position in the start winding and awaits the next start operation.

What is the switch and the bulb in electricity?

A switch is used of stop the current flow in a circuit and the bulb can be classed as the load in a circuit.

How can you start and stop electric circuit?

You can start an electric circuit by closing the circuit, typically by turning a switch on. You can stop an electric circuit by opening the circuit, usually by turning a switch off or disconnecting a wire.

What does a PTB switch do?

A PTB (Push to Break) switch is a type of switch that is normally in the ON state. When the switch is pressed or activated, it will break the circuit connection and turn OFF the device it is controlling. PTB switches are commonly used as emergency stop buttons in machinery or equipment.

How can you break a circuit?

To open a circuit (stop the flow of current), typically a switch is used.

What cause the movement of electrons through a circuit stop?

the key or switch

Will a circuit work without a switch?

Yes, a circuit can work without a switch if it is designed to be always on or if the components are connected directly without the need for a switch to control the flow of current. However, in many applications, a switch is necessary to control when the circuit is on or off.

What does a push switch do in a circuit?

A push switch is an electronic component that completes or breaks an electrical circuit when it is pressed. Pressing the switch physically moves its internal contacts to connect or disconnect the circuit, allowing current to flow or stop flowing. This type of switch is commonly used to turn devices on or off.

Why are series circuit used for most control circuit?

Because The opening of any switch in a series circuit will open the circuit and stop the flow of current to the load

When a switch in an electrical circuit is turned off what will happen?

Closing a switch in an electrical circuit will complete the circuit. The supply voltage will then be applied to that circuit, and current will flow through that circuit.

What device used to stop and start the flow of electricity in a circuit is a?

Which electric element should be used so as to open the closed electric circuit?

A switch, circuit breaker, fuse, or switching transistor can do that.
