If you mean 220 single phase as in two hots and a neutral 110V-0-110V (in the US this would be 240V 120V-0-120V), then the answer is most 3-phase meters cannot be used. A few meters can be setup for either configuration, check the manual for the specific one you want to use. If you mean 220V single phase with just one hot wire and a neutral, then a larger percentage of 3-phase meters can be used, and will meter accurately. But again, the meter has have this as one of the setup choices. Check the manual. One possibility would be if you have a meter that can be setup to use 3 CT's and tell it that it is hooked to a wye system with neutral. If it sees current on just one phase to neutral, this is a valid condition, since the system could be feeding unbalanced loads (remember the meter thinks this is a 3-phase system). This would only work if the meters wiring diagram calls for CT's on all 3 phases. Many meters call for only two CT's, calculating the 3rd leg by using the two known values. This type of setup would not meter accurately for your single phase, I believe. And this will not work on a 110V-0-110V system, because a 3-phase meter expects 120 degrees between phases, not 180. Oh, I didn't mention the case where you might have two hots and no neutral. The 3-phase meter would have to be set up for a delta connection as far as the meter was concerned, since there is no neutral. It could work, not sure on this one.

When resistors are connected in series then what happens to the watt?

Resistors are rated in wattage so the lowest wattage rating will be the wattage of the series circuit. It will be able to handle that power any more and the lowest wattage resistor could be damaged and fail.Another AnswerWhen two or more resistors are connected in series, the resistor with the lowest resistance will operate at the highest power. If the power developed by a resistor exceeds its rated power, then the resistor may burn out.

What happen when you connect shunt resistor in series in an ammeter?

When a shunt resistor is connected in series with an ammeter, it allows the ammeter to measure larger currents than it can handle directly. The shunt resistor creates a parallel path for most of the current to flow through, allowing only a small fraction of the total current to pass through the ammeter itself. This setup enables the ammeter to accurately measure the current by using the voltage drop across the shunt resistor, which can be calibrated to reflect the total current flowing in the circuit.

Difference in dimmer switch heat 600 watts or 1000 watts?

A dimmer switch is used for lighting loads and not heating loads. The wattage rating on a dimmer switch is what the manufacturer recommends as the maximum load that the switch can handle. For example if you have ten 100 watt lamps, the total load wattage would be 1000 watts (10 x 100). Too much load for a 600 watt rated dimmer switch but not for a 1000 Watt rated dimmer switch. So you can see that the rating on a dimmer switch governs the maximum wattage load that can be connected in the circuit that is to be controlled.

What power inverter do you need for a kettle?

To power a kettle, you typically need a power inverter that can handle at least 1000 watts, as most electric kettles require between 800 to 1500 watts to operate efficiently. It's important to choose a pure sine wave inverter for sensitive electronics and to ensure it has a surge capacity to handle the initial power spike when the kettle is turned on. Always check the kettle's wattage rating before making a final decision on the inverter.

How do you handle hydraulic torque wrench on fastening bolts?

When it comes to tightening bolts, there is a specific measure for bolts. You need to go through the manual. There is a spring laid in the handle as when the wrench reaches the particular limit, that could bend proportionally. Thus, the worker should stop when it reaches the particular limit.

How does a 3 phase meter handle using on 220 volt single phase and does the meter measure the wattage usage accurately?

A 3-phase meter measures the sum of the power in the three phases, so if power is drawn on one phase only it will still be correctly measured.

How to measure a tennis racket accurately?

To measure a tennis racket accurately, use a ruler to measure the length of the racket from the bottom of the handle to the top of the head. Then, measure the width of the head by measuring across the widest part. Additionally, you can measure the grip size by wrapping a measuring tape around the handle and noting the circumference. These measurements will give you an accurate assessment of the size of the tennis racket.

How much weight does a bathroom scale handle?

It depends on the scale, but most scales accurately measure somewhere between 300 and 400 pounds. The really cheap ($10) scale will measure closer to 300 pounds accurately, while scales running around $25 will measure accurately to about 400 pounds.

How can one accurately measure grip size for sports equipment?

To accurately measure grip size for sports equipment, use a ruler to measure the circumference of the handle where the hand grips it. This measurement will help determine the appropriate grip size for the individual's hand size.

What does RMS wattage on speaker mean?

RMS wattage on a speaker refers to the continuous power handling capacity that a speaker can sustain without distortion or damage. It indicates the average power level the speaker can handle over time, providing a more accurate measure of performance compared to peak wattage, which represents short bursts of power. Higher RMS wattage generally means the speaker can produce louder sounds and handle more demanding audio without compromising quality.

What is the importance of the wattage of a resistor?

it can't handle more power than that rated wattage. exceed the rating and it burns out.

How can you operate a electric motor rated at 400V 3phase 50Hz on a 400V 3phase 60Hz system?

Yes, however, the RPM will increase by 20%, if the motor is connected to a shaft or driving something that can not handle the torque, then you might run to heating issues or performance issues.

What is maximum wattage on one socket?

The maximum wattage on one socket generally ranges from 1500 to 1800 watts. It is important to check the specific rating of the socket to ensure that it can safely handle the wattage of the device you are connecting. Exceeding the maximum wattage can lead to overheating and potential fire hazards.

How can you measure mass accurately, and what tools or methods can you use to ensure precise results when determining the mass of an object?

To measure mass accurately, you can use a balance or a scale. To ensure precise results when determining mass, use a calibrated instrument, handle the object carefully, and account for any environmental factors that could affect the measurement.
