A font also refers to a 'baptismal font' or the font of an oil lamp which holds the oil. In referring to a 'font of knowledge' I envision a large pool (of knowledge) from which one can draw greater understanding from, like the act of baptism or lighting a lamp.
The circumstances one would use sans serif font would be if they are making a flyer or large banner. Reason being sans serif font is used for large title headings, not body text.

Under Titles and Credits, click on Change the text font and color. Then click on the large 'A' to increase the size of the font. Each time you click on it, the font will be larger (until its maximum for the view).
