Surface treatment affects the endurance strength, which is used to calculate the safety factor.
Surface fatigue inevitably occurs for all materials in high contact-stress applications, causing part failure after thousands of repeated cycles. Failure is evidenced by pitting and eventually spalling.

The fatigue life of metals and some plastics too, can be affected by their surface finishes. Fatigue nearly always starts as a surface crack which spreads across the cross-section of the material and weakens it until it is unable to carry the load and it fails either by direct tension of shear stress on the uncracked remnant of the original cross-section. The surface finish of the material contributes adversly to the initiatian period before a crack starts, and when the surface is rough a stress concentration is present there. When there is no roughness present the crystaline nature of the material itself may be the cause of the crack starting. But when the surface is rough this process is faster due to having greater local stresses. So with increasingly rougher surfaces the fatigue life becomes progressively shorter. Depending on the spectrum of applied loads, this very local stress is responsible for the initiation of the crack which spreads with time. In sheet metal the spread is slow but in heavy solid pieces of metal, the speed of the crack is much faster so the start and finishing times are not very different.
Yes, because material grade is something related to strength or yield of part. Whenever customer specifies any material standard then we have to meet every parameters like tensile & yield strength or Hardness etc. Because these parameters are affecting wear & tear occurring in the part & can lead to failure if material doesnot match with the specified standard. This will be also applicable for surface treatment. For example if suppose the product is having Epoxy coating as surface treatment, then it has to satisfy the salt spray test requirement. Otherwise the product will get corroded even in coated condition & will affect it's strength & can cause a failure also. So I think material & surface treatment requirements even though are not marked with a special characteristics but are mandatory requirement.
Only if it is severly abused/disused/ignored. If you don't clean it or make any attempt to keep it free from surface damage - it will rust quite quickly, as Chrome is only a thin surface treatment to the base metal.
The fatigue behavior of mild steel and duralumin differs primarily due to their material properties. Mild steel typically exhibits a lower fatigue strength compared to duralumin, which can withstand higher cyclic loads due to its higher yield strength and better fatigue resistance. Additionally, duralumin tends to show less plastic deformation before failure, making it more prone to sudden fracture under fatigue loading. Overall, duralumin's superior fatigue characteristics make it more suitable for applications requiring lightweight and high-strength materials.

The best treatment for muscle fatigue and weakness is rest. You should rest and drink plenty of water to stay fully hydrated for the muscles to heal quickly.
Fatigue cracks typically originate from the surface due to stress concentrations and microstructural defects that are more pronounced at the surface. The surface experiences cyclic loading, which leads to the initiation of cracks at weak points where the material is more susceptible to fatigue. Additionally, environmental factors such as corrosion can exacerbate surface vulnerabilities, further promoting crack initiation. Over time, these small surface cracks can propagate into the material, leading to eventual failure.

Fatigue from radiation treatment can vary widely among individuals, but many people report feeling tired for several weeks to a few months after treatment ends. This fatigue may gradually improve as your body heals and recovers. It's essential to listen to your body, rest when needed, and maintain a balanced diet. If fatigue persists or worsens, consult your healthcare provider for personalized advice.
Topical treatment is medication applied to the skin surface.

Fatigue mats are mats that are designed to reduce fatigue that is caused by standing for long periods of time. They are made from materials such as rubber or foam which creates a softer surface to stand on. This softer surface creates a small amount of instability and encourages your leg muscles to make tiny adjustments generating better flood flow and reducing cramps. The soft surface also reduces pressure on the balls of the feet that can occur especially from standing on a cold concrete surface such as in a factory or warehouse.
Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) causes persistent fatigue that affects everyday life and doesn't go away with sleep or rest. There are many medical websites available which can provide additional information such as the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.
