An aircraft battery is usually 28 volts DC because the need for power is greater in an aircraft than in a diesel truck. Having the 4 extra volts is a type of insurance policy so that the battery does not go dead while the plane is in the air.

The charger is specifically designed for the battery. Attempting to use a non rated configuration, unless the charger states clearly on its label that it can handle the 4.2V battery, could result in overcharge, overheat, even fire.Even attempting to place a resistor or zener diode in series with the battery is not a good idea, because some chargers use the voltage/time curve to sense when the battery is fully charged, and this will bias the results.

Unless it's an old vw bug, cars usually run on a 12 volt dc system nowadays. Motorcycles often run on a 6 volt dc system. Different systems require different charging voltages so you won't ever be able to charge a 12 volt car battery from a 6 volt motorcycle battery charger as the output voltage would be way too low. However, if you can set the battery charger's output to give either a 6 or a 12 volt output, then you must always remember to set it to 12 volts if you want to use it to charge a 12 volt car battery.

Shouldn't be a problem. For example the unloaded voltage on a car battery is often around 14 Volts. Under load the voltage reduces.
