Need for modulation:
1. Length of the antenna for a transmitter is inversly proportional to the frequency of the signal to be transmitted. So we try shift the frequency of the singal for the transmission to higher frequencies.
2. Every transmission of signal in a bandwidth is assigned with a particular frequency which is attained by modulating the signal with the carrier frequency.
Different modulation techniques are implemented according to the requirements and compatibilities
When the modulation index is expressed as a percentage, it is commonly referred to as the "percentage modulation." This representation indicates the extent of modulation in relation to the carrier signal, showing how much the amplitude of the carrier varies due to the modulating signal. It provides a clearer understanding of modulation depth for practical applications in communication systems.
Need for modulation 1) to reduce the antenna height 2) to multiplex the more number of signals 3) to reduce the noise & distortions 4) to narrow banding the signal 5) to reduce equipment
Amplitude modulation (AM) is commonly used in analog amplifiers, especially in radio broadcasting. However, in modern communication systems, techniques like frequency modulation (FM) and phase modulation (PM) are also employed, particularly in digital amplifiers. The choice of modulation depends on the application, desired signal quality, and noise resilience.
Morse code and the Telegraph had that technology.
Light modulation refers to the process of varying a light signal's properties, such as its intensity, frequency, or phase, to encode information. This technique is widely used in telecommunications, such as in fiber optic communication, where data is transmitted over long distances. Modulation allows for efficient transmission and improved signal quality by adapting the light signal to different conditions and requirements. Common methods of light modulation include amplitude modulation (AM), frequency modulation (FM), and phase modulation (PM).

frequency modulation, preferably.
Data modulation is a method of Electronic packing of data. In Data communication data is transmitted through a process which is called "Data Modulation".
Adaptive delta modulation is used in audio communication systems to avoid the two drawback of delta modulation.

Modulation is the addition of information to an electronic or optical signal carrier. The modulation can be applied by turning the signal on and off.
AM and FM AM=Amplitude Modulation FM=Frequency Modulation Hope this helps
i refered modulation is the sequence of message in to analog symbol( Simon haykin ,communication systems),,but i am not clear with this, couul u pls clarify?
