An input device is used to transfer information into your computer. When somebody wants to give a presentation on an interactive whiteboard they could use a light pen to touch (that's the pointing bit) the screen to say, open(the input here is 'find this page') a page of further information of an aspect of the presentation topic.
An input device is any peripheral used to provide data and control signals to an information processing system (such as a computer). Input and output devices make up the hardware interface between a computer as a scanneror 6DOFcontroller.
The three different types of hardware are input devices, output devices, and processing devices. Input devices, such as keyboards and mice, allow users to enter data into a computer. Output devices, like monitors and printers, display or produce results from that data. Processing devices, primarily the central processing unit (CPU), perform calculations and execute instructions to process the input data.
Input devices transfer data to an information system and the system processes the data. There are manual input devices and direct data entry devices that are used. Manual devices include keyboards and scanners. Direct data entry devices include smart cards and optical mark recognition.
Keyboard, Mouse, Barcode Reader, Scanner - any device that takes user input.
Without input devices, the only way to reprogram computers would be to pull them apart and rewire them. In modern computers with integrated circuits that would be impossible. Input devices, such as keyboards, make it much easier to reprogram computers with new instructions and/or data.

Describe the input devices in a robot
An Input device is a hardware component that is used to enter data and instructions into a computer. There are three general types of Input devices: 1)Keyboards 2)Pointing devices(e.g:mouse, pointing stick, touch screen, graphic tablet, joy stick etc) 3)Source data entry devices(e.g:(1)scaning devices i.e;barcode reader,magnetic-ink character recognition reader(MICR), smart cards, imaging system, etc and (2)audio/video devicesi.e; audio input devices, video input devices and digital camera)
Input devices can be classified based on their data entry methods into several types: manual input devices, such as keyboards and mice, require direct user interaction; pointing devices, like touchpads and styluses, allow for precise input through gestures; scanning devices, including scanners and barcode readers, convert physical data into digital format; and voice input devices, like microphones, enable users to enter data through spoken commands. Each type serves distinct purposes and enhances user interaction with computers and other digital systems.
Input, Output & Storage Devices
In order to feed any instruction or data int a computer, one has to use input devices. The most common input devices are the keyboard, mouse and microphone.
Peripheral devices are typically classified into two main types: input devices and output devices. Input devices, such as keyboards and mice, allow users to enter data into a computer. Output devices, such as monitors and printers, display or produce the results of computer processes. Some devices, like multifunction printers, can serve as both input and output devices.
the input devices means by using that we can send our info to the system. that devices are key board, joystick, mouse these are the input devices keyboard: by using keyboard we can send data to cpu.
Input, Output & Storage Devices
There are many types of peripheral devices, but an example of three would be a printer, scanner, and web cam.
A pointing device just changes your location on the screen (moves the cursor). A scanning device converts printed output into digital input for processing by the computer.
