Plastic is widely used in interior design for its versatility, durability, and cost-effectiveness. It can be molded into various shapes and colors, making it ideal for furniture, decor, and accessories. Additionally, plastics are often lightweight and easy to clean, which enhances their practicality in both residential and commercial spaces. Furthermore, innovative designs and textures in plastic can add a modern aesthetic to interiors.

Plastic can be a lot of things, some will work well as insulation, some won't.
This answer is completely dependent upon the school - each has differing requirements for degree, so review each carefully. Schools with an emphasis in art and design may not suit you as well as schools which stress family studies and communications. Make sure that your education is as broad as possible, and take every opportunity to intern in different fields; interior design as a profession can lead you into many areas (this writer has worked in corporate, retail, residential and hospitality design in about 15 years). Technology continues to take us into bold new directions, and adaptability will always be crucial for success. One important consideration is accreditation in your field, as some schools which offer design degrees are not accredited by any Interior Design professional organizations - and, after all, it is these professionals who are going to be looking at your resume after graduation. Personally, I would favor a school which offers classes in construction and engineering, as designers in the real world need to be conversant with How Things Work. Remember, good design must be able to be built - and professionals in the building trades will respect you if you show some understanding of their work. Good luck, and welcome to the trade!
It is a type of building design to speed up the whole design & build process. It is to define the core & shell elements of the building at first; The infills (what goes inside the core & shell) are defined later. Core & shell elements are typically long-lead items (CORE: structures, vertical transportation systems SHELL: Facade). Infills are locally processed (such as finishes, interior decoration) Once you have defined the long-lead items, work can proceed without waiting for the interior details.
Interior design work can be done with no special education, but it does help. One could get a degree in interior design at most technical colleges or two-year schools.

With an associate’s degree in interior design, you’ll be able to work as an assistant in your home’s interior design, helping with space planning and material selection, as well as client presentations. You’ll also be able to take on furniture sales and showroom management roles, or pursue a bachelor’s degree for a more advanced career in the field.
Becoming an interior designer is an exciting and gratifying career and it can be studied through college websites. It is best to learn interior design through an accredited design school of 4 years minimum.
Molded doors have too much "plastic" in them to accept stain. You could try "grain painting" them if a solid color didn't work with the design

Interior design is a work that deals with decors your room, home or offices. How to make them look like what client wants by putting matching décors and arrange it to look like what client requested. All this work was done without changing the room size. A few months ago, one of my friends has taken the services for his office from HTS Interior Design LLC, who offers an interior solution to meet specific needs from concept design to turnkey Fit Out solution. An interior designer and a design consultant both work in the field of interior design, but they have different roles and responsibilities. Here are the key differences between the two: Interior Designer Education and Certification: Interior designers typically have formal education in interior design or a related field. Many hold a bachelor's degree and may be certified or licensed, depending on regional requirements. Professional organizations, such as the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ), often certify interior designers. Scope of Work: Interior designers focus on the functional and aesthetic aspects of interior spaces. They are involved in space planning, selecting color schemes, furniture, fixtures, and materials. They consider factors such as building codes, accessibility standards, and sustainability. Interior designers often work closely with architects, contractors, and engineers to ensure that the design is feasible and safe. They may oversee the implementation of their designs, managing the project from conception to completion. Skills: Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong understanding of architecture, spatial arrangements, and human behavior in spaces. Design Consultant Education and Certification: Design consultants may not necessarily have formal education in interior design. Their background could be in various fields, including marketing, business, or art. Certification is less common, and they may rely more on experience and a portfolio of past work. Scope of Work: Design consultants provide advice and strategies for enhancing the visual appeal and functionality of a space. Their role is more advisory and may be broader, encompassing areas beyond just interior design. They might specialize in specific areas, such as color consultancy, lighting design, or home staging. Design consultants can work with both interior and exterior spaces, offering recommendations to improve aesthetics and usability. Skills: Strong communication and advisory skills to effectively convey ideas and recommendations. Expertise in specific design areas, such as color theory, furniture selection, or home staging. To Wrap Up It While interior designers typically have formal education and handle the comprehensive design and execution of interior spaces, design consultants offer specialized, advisory services and may not have formal interior design training. Interior designers often manage entire projects, collaborating with other professionals to bring a design to life, whereas design consultants focus on providing expert advice to enhance specific aspects of a space.
