for...example..you..have..frequency...range...of..f1-f2-f3-f4,
now..your..work..requires..you..to..avoid..frequency..band..of..f2-f3....
what..you..will..do???you..have..to..avoid..or...reject..that..particular..band...so..you..will..
have..to..design..a..filter..circuit..according..to.the..requirement..

IIR filters have nonlinear phase characteristic which means the output of such a filter is (most likely) a deformed version of the input without the filtered frequency. On the other hand IIR filters might become unstable. So IIR filters are used, when the user is not particularly interested in the output in time-domain but only in frequency-domain, e.g. in audio applications such as speakers...
Air vent filters are typically made from materials such as fiberglass, pleated synthetic fibers, or foam. Fiberglass filters are inexpensive and effective at trapping larger particles, while pleated filters offer a greater surface area for improved filtration of smaller particles. Foam filters are often used in reusable applications due to their washable nature. The choice of material impacts the filter's efficiency, lifespan, and application suitability.
Frequency scaling in filters is a technique used to adjust the frequency response of a filter by altering the frequency components of the input signal. This can involve multiplying the frequency values by a scaling factor, which effectively stretches or compresses the frequency spectrum. As a result, the filter can be adapted to different applications without redesigning the filter itself, allowing for greater flexibility in signal processing tasks. This technique is commonly applied in digital signal processing to create filters with desired characteristics.
Low pass filters are used for various purposes in different areas.
Applications of active and passive filters? They are used for signal conditioningThey can be used to bypass power supply. They can also be used in speaker crossover designs.
It is used in medical instruments to remove 50-60hz frequencies....

Hydrophilic membrane filters are commonly used in filtration applications where the filter needs to be wetted with water or other aqueous solutions. These filters have a high affinity for water, allowing liquids to pass through while blocking particles. They are useful in applications such as sterilizing solutions, clarifying samples, and separating biological samples.
Compressed air filters, which are also known as in-line filters, serve the purpose of filtering contaminants, such as dust, oil and moisture, from air after it has been compressed. They are usually used in industrial applications.

It fits 284 different applications. Proline filters are made by Purolator for Pep Boys, and they use the same five-digit numbers on all their filters--Purolator makes a LOT of private-label filters. If you would like to see what this fits, go to http://www.pureoil.com, click on "Vehicle Applications" then "Where Used Guide." Feed in part number PL24651 and stand back. This is the weirdest filter--it fits GM, Ford and Chrysler applications.

IIR filters are recursive and FIR filters are non-recursive. Also FIR filters are linear phase and IIR filters are not; several applications are sensitive to non-linear phase (communications, medical, etc). In implementation, IIR filters require fewer taps (smaller order) and thusly are easier to implement and have fewer zeros. Also FIR filters are always stable, while IIR filters can often become unstable in implementation. The previous answer is correct about delays.
