In Biology cohesion is the molecular attraction when a molecule is dispersed evenly throughout a mass. This happens in trees, water is a cohesive substance (due to its polar properties) it gets absorbed through the roots of a plant and dispersed evenly throughout the whole plant. If the water runs out then the whole plant will not have enough water to all of its cells and it will die (or not grow). I am pretty sure that this quality holds true in the plasma of our blood as well which is very important to us and all other animals.

What causes adhesion and cohesion of water?

Hydrogen bonds are the reason for cohesion and Van Der Waals equation is the cause of adhesion.

What is the attraction that causes water molecules to stick togeather called?

cohesion

What are examples of adhesion and cohesion?

cohesion: water's cohesion causes molecules on the surface of water to be drawn inward, which is why drops pf water form beads on a smooth surface. adhesion: adhesion between water and glass causes water to rise in a narrow tube against the force of gravity ice formingon the surface of water bodies in winter

What fundamental force causes cohesion?

The fundamental force that causes cohesion is the electromagnetic force. It is responsible for attracting and holding together atoms and molecules in a substance, allowing them to form stable structures. This force is mediated by the exchange of photons between charged particles.

How does adhesion and cohesion results to the formation of a meniscus?

Adhesion between water and the walls of the container causes the liquid to climb the walls, while cohesion between water molecules creates a curved surface at the top of the liquid. The combination of these forces results in the formation of a meniscus, which is concave for water in a glass container and convex for water in a narrow tube.

What property of water is attracted to itself?

The property of water that is attracted to itself is called cohesion. Cohesion is a result of the hydrogen bonding between water molecules, which causes them to stick together. This property allows water to form droplets and have a high surface tension.

What is meant by cohesion?

Cohesion means sticking together.

What is a sentence for cohesion?

cohesion is water sticking to water

What means by cohesiveness of water molecules?

In chemistry and physics, cohesion refers to the sticking together of alike molecules, such as water molecule being attracted to another water molecule. Cohesion also causes water molecules to form drops.Together with adhesion It helps to explain the occurrence of surface tension and capillary action. In botany, cohesion pertains to the fusion of plant parts, such as in syncarpy.

Is cohesion related to physics?

yep, cohesion is related to physics. cohesion is the force that keeps the molecules of a substance intact.
