How do missile defense systems help nations?

Missile defense systems are very limited in nature. If one missile gets out of control, it might be shot down as the USS Lake Erie shot down a USA missile in a test on Feb. 14, 2009. If there are several missiles coming at you, they will overwhelm the best defense systems. Missile defense systems do Nothing to stop aircraft bombers. Bombers that fly below radar. Bombers that have stealth anti radar covering. Bombers that carry air-to-air and/or air-to-ground rockets and or missiles. Bombers can get around most missile defense systems.

Air Defense Artillery Senior Sergeant?

On June 20, 1968, the Air Defense Artillery descended from the Anti-Aircraft Artillery as a separate branch of the military. Air defense Artillery is mainly a composition of air defense systems that act as a combat arm with a specialization in anti-aircraft weapons. One of the Air Defense Artillery’s main goals is protecting soldiers on the ground from an attack that comes from an aircraft. In addition to anti-aircraft weaponry, the Artillery has recently included mortar and counter-rockets. The Air Defense Artillery Senior Sergeant is responsible for the supervision, coordination and direction of the maintenance, operation and management of air defense artillery weapon systems. This position will garner expertise in systems such as the Patriot Missile System or the Avenger System. The basic requirements for the position are the ability to distinguish between red and green coloration, a United States citizen and a graduate of an Advanced Noncommissioned Officer course(ANCO). The promotion to the position of Air Defense Artillery Sergeant is dependent upon the soldier completing and passing the ANCO course. Physical demands of the position require mobility in the upper and lower mobility that doesn’t preclude moderate climbing, marching, walking or hand-to-hand fighting. The security clearance necessary for this position has the designation of secret. A secret clearance applies to positions that have access to information that, if it were disclosed to opposing forces, could cause serious damage to the national security. The applicant must not have a psychiatric pathology and should be able to perform at a maximum effort for an extended length of time. Additional skills useful to the position is a designation as a master fitness trainer and a skill level of three or above in battle staff operations. The Air Defense Artillery Senior Sergeant position is not comparable to any position in the civilian job market, but skills related to positions such as human resources and labor relations specialist employ some similar skills. This is not an entry-level position.
