i think it holds all the engines heat while the engine warms up. that's why it does not make any power while it is closed. once the engine is up to temp. it opens and flows free again.....maybe???

nope it letts out the burt gass after the spark plug ignites the the compressed gas air mix. that's why the fuems come out of the exhaust

Where is the egr sensor located on 7.3 powerstroke?

On a 7.3 Powerstroke, the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) sensor is typically located on the EGR valve assembly, which is situated on the driver's side of the engine, near the rear. The valve itself is mounted on the intake manifold, and the sensor is connected to it, helping to monitor the flow of exhaust gases recirculated back into the engine. For precise access, you may need to remove the heat shield or other components in the vicinity.

What is the difference between valve and control-valve?

Control valve: Used to modify flow rate in a process control system. It has characterization: linear, equal percentage and quick opening Pressure inlet must be higher than the output pressure Regulator:Diapghram operating valve which controls outlet pressure (reducing application),control inlet pressure (back pressure) or either (differential reducing and differential relief applications
