If a self-excited generator lost all its residual magnetism, can it build up an output voltage?
Voltage is a build up of electrons at one location relative to another location. To form a voltage gradient (difference), you need to somehow build up electrons at one location, or remove electrons from one location. Shuffling your feet on a thick carpet can do this!
The residual flux will help the phenomenon of changing flux. So that emf generation takes place.
It fails to build up because self excited DC motor's armature have only one direction of rotation. So that if the poles of the armature are reversed, then this causes the reduction in the residual magnetism and eventually, it will stop.
It's a diagram showing the components and connections needed to build a voltage stabilizer. The diagram will show a power transistor and a voltage reference, such as a zener diode.

List the factors that affect the voltage building in D.C generator.
yes
Anything that would allow the high-voltage to jump to the wrong place would certainly cause the engine to run poorly. Buildup around the outside of the cap would hold moisture which would allow the voltage to arc.
Stay with-in the amperage capability, the voltage capability, and use a heat sink to dissipate the heat build up.
Voltage-dependent-channels (these channels won't open until a critical electrical potential has build up)
Static electricity builds up on an object when the object gains or loses electrons through friction or contact with another object. This imbalance of electrons creates a charge on the object, leading to static electricity build-up.
The residual flux will help the phenomenon of changing flux. So that emf generation takes place.
What can usually happen is the permanent magnets in the generator will become energized, and like static shocks, will store energy in them.

A capacitor is composed of metal plates. Voltage is applied to one, which causes electrons to build up on the other. This is reactive in nature, thus a capacitor is reactive. It stores a charge, and releases this charge when the voltage decreases.
