A humanoid robot is one that has a human shape, ie a head with two 'eyes', a 'nose' and 'mouth, and on a neck, and two arms, a torso, and two legs.
It's usually made of metal or metal and plastic. However there are ones that can look entirely human; these would have mechanical and electronic workings underneath but realistic looking human skin and hair and features over this. They are often very attractive.
The best examples are the sci-fi writer Isaac Asimov's robots who are, in my estimation, dead sexy! He called the really human looking ones 'humaniforms' and they were usually real lookers too.
