This is actually a very good idea, especially if you have a dark background image. The background color will almost always work (unless the browser doesn't support any colors at all) but the background image may not load properly or may take a long time to load. If you have light text on a dark background image, the text will not be readable against the default white background until the background image appears. If something goes wrong with the image download, the user may never be able to read the text. It's a good idea to assign a background color that is similar to the background image to prevent this problem.

To achieve a dark background in photos, you can adjust the exposure settings on your camera to decrease the amount of light entering the lens. Additionally, you can use a backdrop that is dark in color or shoot in a low-light environment to create a darker background. Experimenting with different lighting techniques, such as using a spotlight or off-camera flash, can also help create a dark background in your photos.

If your coop has electricity put a night light or a timed light to encourage the birds to come in even after the light fades. Also try feeding them at dusk inside the coop.
White text that appears on a dark background is known as light on dark contrast, or inverse contrast. This design choice can help make text stand out and improve readability in certain situations, such as low-light environments or for users with sensitivity to bright light.
