It's an engine driven generator like a Ranger, correct? They already come set up to be used as either welding machine or generator when they come from the factory.
When you weld something, it'll cool unevenly. This will set up stress points in the matrix that can cause problems like warping and reduction of strength. Stress relieving seeks to correct this.
by having the machine properly set and good consumables.
When welding on AC on a TIG welder you have to option to adjust how your arc passes from your torch to your metal and vice versa. This allows you to clawed your puddle clean of contaminants or burn your weld deeper while welding. When set on balanced, the arc equally passes in both directions.
Water constantly exerts pressure on pipe joints. I have seen old soldered joints flying apart when subjected to extreme pressure or trains passing nearby. This sometimes happens with plastic pipe also if joints are not thoroughly set .

two reasons i can think of: 1 - Probably dont need to, usually welding material of constant thickness. 2 - The transformer is mechanically adjusted on most welders, this means that that there would be a possibility for electricity jumping in the transformer, and premature failure, or fire.
That depends on the diameter of the rod if it is 1/8" set your amperage between 125 and 140.

it dependsif your going virticle down i would set it at about 100 amps but if your going flat or horizontal i would crank it up to about 125 amps

To effectively use MIG welding to repair or fabricate a bike frame, you should first clean the surfaces to be welded, set the appropriate voltage and wire speed on the MIG welder, and practice proper welding techniques such as maintaining a steady hand and consistent travel speed. It is important to ensure proper penetration and fusion of the metal to create strong and durable welds. Additionally, using the correct type and thickness of welding wire and shielding gas is crucial for achieving high-quality welds on a bike frame.
The correct phrasing is "set up correctly."
