The manifold block directs the hydraulic fluid into or out of the cylinder.
Statements are composed from expressions. A semi-colon turns an expression into a statement. A function is not a statement it is a type definition. A statement block is a compound statement, one or more statements delimited by braces, {}. A function block is the body of a function. The body must be enclosed in braces, {}.
A function is a self contained block of code that perform of particular task.
The cylinder head is a smaller block that (generally) sits on the top of the crankcase. It is the part of the engine where air is received and mixed with fuel, then passed into the block for the intake/compression/combustion cycle and then directs it out on the exhaust cycle. On OHC/OHV (OverHead Cam/OverHead Valve) engines, the cylinder head contains, at least, - with many more possibilities - the intake and exhaust valves (one or more of each per cylinder), the camshaft(s), either a belt or chain for timing the cams and valves to the movement of the pistons, fuel injectors (if present), and various types of apparatus to operate the opening and closing of the valves including mechanical or hydraulic systems for valve movement and sensors such as a MAF (Mass Air Flow), PCV (Portioning Control Valve), and/or EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve. The head gasket is the gasket that goes between the cylinder head and the crankcase or block of the engine.

The difference between a piston and a plunger may be understood if you observe what forms the seal that precludes the fluid from passing either the Plunger or Piston. The 'piston' is a steel block equipped with elastomers that makes wall contact with the cylinder wall. As it moves inside the cylinder it wipes the wall and displaces the entire content of the cylinder. In this case the seals form part of the piston. The 'plunger' is a steel block that moves through a hole that is equipped with elastomer seals. The plunger displaces a portion of the cylinder contents, i.e., the volume of the plunger that enters the cylinder. The plunger does not wipe the walls of the cylinder. The seals, in case, are a part of the cylinder block. Umair Aslam Mechanical Engineer PARCO, Pakistan
to house the pistons
The cylinder block houses the pistons and valves. It's located in the middle of the engine and are made from cast iron or aluminum.
Housing the cylinder and the components inside a cooled and lubricated crankcase
Oil supply sump, pump, relief valve, control block, hydraulic motor (cylinder), pressure gauges, piping or hoses. And there may be multiples of each in a complex system.
what is cylinder block
what does a cylinder block do
engine block, it's function is to carry the engine or where the cylinder head set, piston, it;s function is to compressed the air and fuel.
A cylinder head is made of cast iron or aluminum. It is on the top of your engine block and it helps support your car's function. The coolant passes through this and helps keep it from overheating from the engine block.
sealing and covering the cylinder block is the main function of CHC. In some type the cylinder head cover is integrated with air cleaner and air intake manifold.
