A raw material is mixed with other raw materials and melted down to form a billet. For example, steel; iron ore is mixed with limestone & manganese & other alloys depending on the type of steel that you want (nickel is mixed in to produce stainless steel). This is then melted down and poured into vats, or depressions in the plant floor and allowed to cool. To get steel plate to make a washing machine, the slabs are then rolled through mills (like rolling bread dough, but there is a roll on top and a roll on the bottom, to flaten it). The slab may pass through several mills (stacks of rollers) to obtain the gauge needed. The rolled steel is then collected on a coil and further processed depending on the finish. The rolls are then shipped to customers (i.e. Maytag). The coils are then cut into strips which are bent and shaped to look like the outside of your washer.

How six sigma developed?

Six Sigma is a manufacturing process control strategy which first implemented by Motorola. Six sigma being common used by any sectors of industry nowadays, especially those precision product manufacturing. Six Sigma manufacturing implemented to control the process or stabilize the process. Then, seeks to improve the quality of process outputs. Six sigma manufacturing tools are used to stablize or improve processes, aiming towards reaching the target.

Which machine used for turn metal or wood?

The machine commonly used for turning metal or wood is called a lathe. A lathe rotates the workpiece against a cutting tool to shape it into desired forms, such as cylindrical or conical shapes. Wood lathes and metal lathes are specifically designed for their respective materials, with different features to accommodate the unique properties of wood and metal. This process is essential in various applications, including furniture making, metalworking, and manufacturing.

What is blasting and casting?

Blasting is a manufacturing or surface preparation process where abrasive materials are forcefully propelled against a surface to clean, smooth, roughen, or shape it. It is commonly used in industries like automotive, aerospace, construction, and metal fabrication.whereas Casting is a manufacturing process in which molten material (usually metal, plastic, or resin) is poured into a mold and allowed to cool and solidify into a desired shape.

How are PVC spinning wheels used in the manufacturing process of a product?

PVC spinning wheels are used in the manufacturing process to help shape and mold materials like plastic or metal into the desired form. The spinning motion of the wheels allows for precise cutting, shaping, and finishing of the product, resulting in a high-quality final product.

Why are X-rays used in some manufacturing processes?

X-rays can "see through" stuff, and can be used to inspect products in the manufacturing process. We might X-ray cryo packed meat to insure no metal bits from the production line ended up in the package.
