Need more information - a typical regulated power supply would include dozens of resistors, each for one of several different reasons. Which resistor are you asking about?
Advantage of regulated power supply.
Maintain constant stable supply and reference voltages.
They are resistance connected in parallel with high voltage power supply for the purpose of discharging the energy stored in filter capacitance when the equipment is turned off.
in regulated the voltage will be a constant one and can't be variant but is in case of unregulated
Ohm's law: current equals voltage divided by resistance, so a 203 ohm resistor would draw 0.57 amperes from a 115 volt power supply.

I'm no expert but I wouldn't try that: I think battery chargers adjust the current flow to battery as it charges. The regulated power supply mentioned has a steady flow of current out (regulated) doesn't it? I would expect the battery to be damaged by charging with a power supply.
yes there is a need for cost effective power supply like solar energy
An SMPS is a switched-mode power supply. It is used to convert an unregulated power input into a regulated power output, often altering the voltage. In a modern computer, several components may be powered from the same power supply but will often require different regulated voltages. The SMPS fulfils this role.

Injectors that have a resistor in the power supply are called
